Empowering You to Move Freely, Live Fully.

Still Living With Knee Pain? You're Not Alone.

Knee pain that lingers, limits, and keeps coming back is one of the most common—and most mismanaged—conditions we see. Here's why so many Cambridge residents feel stuck.

Isolated Treatment, Not Real Answers

Most insurance-based PT practices treat your knee as a single, disconnected body part. But knee pain almost always has upstream or downstream causes—from hip weakness to ankle instability to how you move through your entire kinetic chain. Without addressing the whole picture, relief is temporary at best.

Rushed Sessions, Minimal Contact

When your appointment is back-to-back and your therapist is juggling four other patients, there's no time to listen, assess, and truly understand your body. You leave with a generic exercise sheet and the same pain you walked in with.

No Progress, No Plan

Months pass, you've tried rest, ice, and even surgery consults—but nobody has given you a clear path forward. Living with knee pain near me isn't inevitable. A root-cause approach changes everything.

Why Cambridge Residents Choose Us for Knee Pain Care

At Buffer Trenouth Physical Therapy and Wellness, we don't just treat your knee—we treat you. Our whole-body, root-cause model means every session is dedicated to understanding why you're in pain and building a personalized plan to resolve it. As a women-owned practice with 15+ years of specialized expertise, we've helped hundreds of Cambridge patients—athletes, performers, professionals, and active adults—reclaim their movement and their lives.

• One-on-one, 60-minute sessions—no double-booking, no rushed care

• Out-of-network model with FSA/HSA accepted and superbills provided for reimbursement

• Whole-body assessment connecting knee pain to its true root cause—not just the symptom

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before your first visit to our Cambridge, MA clinic.

Do you accept insurance?

We are an out-of-network (OON) provider and do not bill insurance directly. However, we accept FSA and HSA payments, and we provide detailed superbills after each session so you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement through your insurance plan. Many of our patients find they receive partial or full reimbursement this way—while also receiving far better, more personalized care than a typical in-network PT can offer.

What can I expect at my first knee pain evaluation?

Your first session is a comprehensive, one-on-one evaluation—typically 60 minutes. Your therapist will take a thorough history, assess your movement patterns, strength, and alignment, and identify the root causes of your knee pain. You'll leave with a clear diagnosis, a personalized treatment plan, and exercises to start right away.

Do you offer home visits or telehealth sessions?

Yes! We offer mobile PT and in-home visits for patients who prefer to receive care at home, as well as virtual sessions for ongoing exercise coaching and guidance. Ask us about availability when you book.
